Pinkowski & Company has provided myriad consulting services to individuals, private investment groups, financial institutions, hotel companies, and law firms as they relate to various activities in the hospitality industry on a nationwide basis for over 45 years. The collective experience of the team is over 90 years. The assignments include all types of lodging facilities from select service hotels to destination resorts, public assembly facilities, and a variety of unique and mixed use developments. As new concepts have emerged in each of these areas, the company has assisted in evaluating the level of success for their respective markets. The results are based on comprehensive, experienced research and analysis presented in a straight forward, honest assessment of the development opportunities. For 15 years Pinkowski & Company, together with the Metropolitan Memphis Hotel and Lodging Association, has presented the Southern Lodging Summit, a hospitality industry conference addressing contemporary issues of planning, development, marketing and operations. Nationally recognized speakers address historical performance, emerging trends, new brand developments and other contemporary matters pertinent to the successful performance of the hotel business. This event has become known as “The Best Kept Secret of hotel conferences” and attracts an attendance in excess of 200 from 18 to 20 states.
Chuck’s experience includes seventeen years in Memphis with an international accounting and consulting firm managing the hospitality industry consulting practice throughout the southeastern part of the nation. He also was Vice President of Development Planning for a major international hotel company where he was responsible for planning the development of four distinct hotel brands nationwide.
Since creating his Memphis based company, Chuck has provided consulting assistance for his clients in 45 states. This consultation includes development planning, investment analysis, market feasibility work, chain/brand evaluations and litigation assignments for a variety of issues. Chuck has been involved in the evaluation, planning and development of destination resorts, convention hotels, conference centers, extended stay lodging facilities, select service hotels, and numerous mixed use projects.
Chuck is the founding Chairman of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants, an organization of over 250 members in more than 22 countries around the world specializing in consultation to the hospitality industry. He is an Advisory Board Member and frequent speaker for the Americas Lodging Investment Summit (ALIS) since its inception. He also is an Advisory Board Member and guest speaker for The Hunter Conference – A National Hotel Investment Conference for the past 30 years. Chuck has been actively involved in the American Hotel and Lodging Association for most of his professional career and is a board member of the Tennessee Hospitality and Tourism Association and the Metropolitan Memphis Hotel and Lodging Association. Chuck is a member of the Real Estate Investment Management Advisory Council for The School of Hospitality and Business at Michigan State University. He also is an advisory board member for the Kemmons Wilson School of Hotel and Resort Management at the University of Memphis.
Also affiliated with Pinkowski & Company is David Pear. David has over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry both as a consultant and in hotel operations. After graduating from the University of Tennessee, David joined Holiday Inns and worked in various operations departments before joining PKF in 1981. A Senior Consultant with PKF until 1986, David was involved in a number of hospitality industry engagements including operational reviews, employee food service design and implementation, impact reviews as well as a number of feasibility studies for hotel development projects.
Since 1991, David has been an independent consultant in the hospitality industry and has worked closely with Pinkowski & Company in all areas of hospitality consulting. Projects David has been involved in over the last 17 years include all areas of development planning, investment analysis, litigation support, market feasibility studies, chain/brand evaluations and impact analysis. In addition to his undergraduate degree, David has an MBA from Christian Brothers University and several Certificates of Specialization from the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
For the past 27 years Gloria McCollum has provided research and technical support for Pinkowski & Company. Gloria has been involved in consulting on all types of engagements including development planning, redevelopment of historic downtown structures, development of a mixed use/entertainment district, development of four star full service hotels, development of conference center hotels, multiple developments of extended stay hotels and select service hotels, brand related impact analysis, and litigation support.
Gloria has extensive experience as a conference meeting planner. She has been responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing numerous conferences and meetings throughout the United States and in several foreign countries.
